Friends and fellow members of Guardians of the Children Sister Chapters gathered Saturday to honor 67-year-old Hector Hernandez, a former member of the motorcycle group who dedicated years to helping children who had experienced abuse.
Hernandez, known affectionately by friends as “Papa Bear,” was remembered as a friendly, approachable and compassionate advocate for children.
“He’s always been a big, big advocate to fight child abuse,” said Milan Mrvichin, one of the founding members of the local Guardians of the Children chapter. “He was an awesome guy, friendly, very approachable, and loving.”…
