A San Antonio Walmart is getting a brand new look and feel as it begins to undergo an extensive remodel, adding new amenities like a sushi bar and a more comfortable waiting area for its auto center.
The Walmart at 8923 W. Military Drive in San Antonio announced on Monday, June 1, that it will kick off a major makeover of its store, spelling out some of the incoming changes in a Facebook post from the business. The store will soon add more clearance aisles, a new sushi bar, fresh tortillas and an updated waiting room for the Walmart Auto Care Center.
A 2025 construction project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation lists a few more details about the Walmart remodel, like its estimated budget of $1,894,752. The project lists an ending date of September 9, 2026, but construction timelines are often subject to change.
