Driver crashes through airport fence, ends up on active runway after wild chase

SAN ANTONIO — State troopers arrested a driver early Saturday morning after a high-speed vehicle pursuit ended with a crash onto a runway at San Antonio International Airport, according to preliminary police radio transmissions.

The pursuit began around 1:30 a.m. when a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper attempted a traffic stop on 2012 Chrysler passenger car near the intersection of Babcock and 410.

According to DPS, the Chrysler evaded through various parts of the city until they crashed into a gate off of Jones Maltsberger Road, into the San Antonio Airport Runway…
