An Edinburg mother accused of killing her two young children, whose bodies were found inside a burning SUV on San Antonio’s West Side, has been indicted on seven felony charges, according to Bexar County court records.
On Aug. 6, a Bexar County grand jury indicted Marlene Vidal, 34, on the following charges:
- two counts of capital murder of a person under 10 years old
- capital murder of multiple persons
- two counts of injury to a child with intent to cause serious bodily injury
- arson
- tampering with physical evidence with intent to impair a human corpse
If convicted of capital murder, Vidal could face the death penalty or life in prison without parole. Prosecutors have not said whether they intend to seek the death penalty.
