City employees David Row and Stephanie Bracely showed up to a recent sweep of a homeless encampment with food, water bottles and a final offer for assistance.
A Solid Waste Management crew was already collecting the trash and belongings that people left behind when they were told to clear out, and dump trucks were idling under Interstate 10 near Roosevelt Avenue on the South Side.
Row, the city’s homeless outreach manager, and Bracely, an outreach specialist, thought one or two people might still be at the camp.
