Suspected shoplifter accused of punching officer while trying to flee South Side store

SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio police officer was injured after an alleged assault during a shoplifting call on the city’s South Side.

The incident happened at about 6:23 p.m. Friday in the 2600 block of Southwest Military Drive near South Zarzamora Street.
