The Shops at La Cantera, voted among the best shopping centers in the country, has seen its fair share of changes in the past year. Another is on the horizon, as La Cantera teases the opening date for one of its most anticipated new stores — SKIMS. SKIMS has been in the works for a few months in a heavily-frequented corner of the mall near Tecovas, Alo yoga, Aritzia and other popular stores. It seems to be replacing Vineyard Vines, a preppy label that first opened at La Cantera in 2016. A spokesperson for the Shops at La Cantera told MySA that SKIMS is set to open sometime during the first week of October, though they didn’t have a more specific date available.
More details about the store are revealed in a regulatory filing first made in February. It pegged the construction start date for early June, which lines up with a post La Cantera made announcing that the store was “officially on the way” as of June 1.
