Firefighters rescued residents from a first-floor apartment fire reported around 7:20 p.m. as crews arrived to find flames coming from the first floor, according to a battalion chief on scene.
Around 7:20 p.m., first responders were called to a reported structure fire near the corner of Windsor Oaks and Walzem Road on the East Side.
“Basically, we got called at roughly 7:20 this evening for a reported house fire,” said Battalion Chief Benya, a battalion chief with EESD 10. He said the first two units to arrive reported “fire coming from the first floor.”…
