A 51-year-old man died after he was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and later reported having difficulty breathing while in police custody, records show.
Mark Tyson Cardwell died Aug. 26 at a hospital following his arrest earlier that morning on the West Side, according to a custodial death report the San Antonio Police Department filed Aug. 31 with the Texas Attorney General’s Office.
