September rainfall has been hard to come by across much of Texas. In San Antonio, only 0.29 inch of rain has fallen this month, accounting for only 7% of September’s typical rainfall. If no more rain is recorded through Sept. 30, this month would rank as San Antonio’s second-driest September in the past 75 years.
It’s been a similar story across other major Texas metros. Both Austin and Houston have recorded less than an inch of rain this month, but the driest spot has been the Dallas-Fort Worth area, which has seen just 0.01 inch of rain.
However, areas in South-Central Texas have encountered some scattered storms over the past few days, particularly in the Hill Country. And by Tuesday evening, another round of scattered showers and storms will become possible. Here’s what you can expect.
