A 20-year-old man wanted in connection with a shooting in Guadalupe County was tracked down and arrested on San Antonio’s West Side, capping a joint operation that stretched from Thursday night into the early hours of Friday morning. Miguel Angel Pacheco was taken into custody without incident, and once he was in handcuffs, San Antonio police tacked on a new felony drug charge before he even faced the original warrants.
According to KENS 5, investigators with the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Bureau Narcotics Unit teamed up with the San Antonio Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit to run the operation starting September 24 and continuing into the early morning hours of September 25. The two agencies located Pacheco on the West Side and made the arrest without incident, per that same reporting. Pacheco was arrested on the West Side in connection with the Guadalupe County shooting.
Outstanding Guadalupe County warrants had sought Pacheco on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of engaging in organized criminal activity, all connected to a prior shooting in Guadalupe County, the station reported.
New Drug Charge Added After Arrest
Once Pacheco was in custody, San Antonio police charged him with possession of a Penalty Group 2 controlled substance weighing between 4 grams and 400 grams, and additional narcotics charges could be filed, the station’s report states.
