Maybe it’s the price of beef or the glut of traditional Tex-Mex spots in the city, but mariscos are having a moment in San Antonio. The trend will continue this fall when Báltico Seafood & Grill opens at 402 N. Loop 1604 W. in Stone Oak.
The concept appears to be an offshoot of Báltico Fish & Beer, a popular neighborhood restaurant in Torreón, Mexico, but it’s unclear if the original ownership is involved. The new spot only says it was “inspired by” the Mexican restaurant, but the logos are nearly identical.
Whoever holds the keys, it appears to have been sold as a mostly turnkey operation. Not only did the restaurant take over the site of San Antonio’s only Eggspectation franchise after it shuttered in February, but it has taken over its Instagram account…
