Do y’all feel that? It’s the winds of change, as Randall Boggs once said in Disney’s Monsters, Inc. Okay, maybe this isn’t what he meant, but it looks like wind gusts will be a part of what will drop temperatures in the coming hours in South Central Texas.
The National Weather Service is keeping an eye on isolated showers in the San Antonio and surrounding areas on Sunday, October 4, as cloudy skies keep temperatures between the 70s and mid-80s. “Chances for showers linger today but coverage will be isolated/scattered with many remaining dry,” the NWS said. “Northerly wind will be gusty at times, especially from the Hill Country and locations east.” A 20% to 40% chance for showers or isolated thunderstorms will hang around in the area, but most folks will remain dry. There will also be “Breezy northerly wind from 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25-30 mph; [but] less gusty along the Rio Grande,” according to the NWS.
7 AM Update: Monitoring a strip of showers moving to the southwest from College Station to near Luling. The heaviest portion of this activity could between a half inch to an inch of rain. #txwx https://t.co/zUwn7qwfYF

Sunday night into Monday morning, October 5, winds will remain strong. As the forecasted high is expected in the high to mid-80s, but a 20 degree temperature drop could sweep the area by Monday night. That trend could continue through the week, as rain chances dissipate until Thursday, October 8. Did somebody say rainy weekend ahead? The NWS says it’s a possibility. Will it be anything like it was the last week? Not likely, but a chance of more rain in the forecast will remain in the forecast for now…
