Ashlyn Reyna arrived at H-E-B’s newest San Antonio-area store nearly 16 hours before it opened Wednesday, October 28 hoping to be among the first shoppers through the doors.
The San Antonio resident said the new 125,000-square-foot store near Interstate 10 and Loop 1604 East will make grocery shopping much more convenient for her, as she lives just two minutes away.
“We used to have to drive to, like, La Vernia or Kitty Hawk [in Universal City], which were both equally as far, so we’re just excited,” Reyna told MySA.
Reyna arrived around 2 p.m. Tuesday and waited alongside a handful of other early birds before the store’s grand opening at 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 28. The festivities began at 5 a.m.
For Reyna, the wait was about more than giveaways or free samples. She said she wanted to be the first in line and experience the new store…
