SAN ANTONIO – Squatters in an abandoned home may be responsible for yet another fire on the South Side. Fire crews were called out to the 600 block of Verne Street near the intersection with Burton Avenue just after 4:15 a.m. Sunday. Flames were shooting out the front window of the home when they arrived. The firemen quickly got the fire under control and cleared the scene shortly after 5 a.m.
