San Antonio Shines with $30 Million Solar Project to Advance Sustainability Goals

San Antonio took a major step toward clean energy, initiating a sizable solar project. Starting with six out of a planned 42 municipal buildings, this $30 million effort has just seen the light of day, with solar panels now soaking up the Texas sun, according to an announcement from Mayor Ron Nirenberg. “This initiative sets a national example for an innovative approach in expanding rooftop solar through municipal building installation,” the Mayor proclaimed in a statement obtained by the City’s website. They’re expected to slash an impressive 11 percent off the City’s building electricity consumption.
