Just five days ago, at San Antonio Animal Services, in Texas a two-year-old emaciated and helpless dog was brought to the shelter. His ribs starkly visible reflected an extended period of neglect and starvation. He was found wandering the streets of San Antonio; he barely had been able to stand.
