Downtown wine bar and mini crime wave steal San Antonio dining news

All across San Antonio, bar and restaurant owners might be hankering for a stiff drink this week. Two locally owned businesses — Wetmore Beach House and El Pacífico Eivo — were victims of petty crime. Unfortunately, a planned wine bar in the downtown Savoy Building won’t be open yet to help calm their nerves.

According to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation paperwork, local chain Tia’s Taco Hut is planning its 13th location. The new outpost of Lisa and Benny Costello’s fast-casual spot should settle by early 2026 at 3643 Evans Rd., if construction goes according to schedule…
