What we know about the body found floating in Woodlawn Lake 24 hours later

Nearly 24 hours after a woman’s body was found floating in the water at San Antonio’s Woodlawn Lake Park, authorities are investigating the incident as a “suspected drowning.” The park is based in the city’s West Side, near St. Mary’s University and not far from Young Women’s Leadership Academy.

Here’s what we know so far:

The body was discovered on Tuesday, March 25

The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) told MySA a jogger, who was on a morning run, discovered the body. The jogger saw an object in the lake, and after realizing it was a body, proceeded to call 911. Authorities received the report at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

In a preliminary report from SAPD, the location of the incident was reported as 1100 Cincinnati Avenue.

SAPD and local fire crews were dispatched to the scene

Following the report, officers with SAPD were dispatched to scene, which was classified as a “suspected DOA.”…
