Surveillance video misidentification led to man’s conviction; DNA evidence clears his name

SAN ANTONIO — A man convicted in the robbery and stabbing of a Walmart loss prevention worker was declared innocent by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals late last month, nearly six years after a Bexar County jury wrongfully convicted him and sentenced him to 25 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit.

It was a grainy surveillance video depicting the back of the suspect’s head that caused investigators to zero in on Travis Cobb.
