Texas Highschool ‘Walks Back’ Harsh Punishment Of Most Graduating Seniors

International Leadership of Texas (ILTexas) Arlington-Grand Prairie High School has received considerable internet attention after declaring that all seniors who participated in Senior Skip Day would not be allowed to walk at their graduation ceremony.

As outlined in the ILTexas Parent/Student Handbook, participation in Senior Skip Day is strictly prohibited and may result in serious consequences, including the potential loss of the privilege to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Following the incident, a communication was sent to families to clarify the school’s expectations and policies. We understand that this issue has caused concern among students, parents, and the broader school community. A decision has been made that the students who participated in the Senior Skip Day will walk at graduation; however, in order to do so, they’ll need to complete community service hours.
