Man who hid in tree for six hours had fled ICE agents days before, had previous DWI charge

SAN ANTONIO — New details have emerged about a man who climbed a tree on the city’s west side to avoid arrest by ICE agents.

According to newly released court documents, federal agents initially attempted to arrest 29-year-old Raul Ical at a home earlier this month on immigration-related charges.

Court documents allege that around 8:40 a.m. on April 14, both ICE and Texas State Troopers attempted to make contact with Ical while he was standing in his front yard…
