Tornado watch issued for West Texas and Hill Country overnight, NWS says

A tornado watch has been issued for a large part of West Texas, extending eastward into parts of the Hill Country, the National Weather Service said late Monday . The tornado watch will be in effect until 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The watch area includes the following cities: Midland, Odessa, Fort Stockton, San Angelo, Junction, Del Rio, Uvalde, and Kerrville.

Scattered strong-to-severe thunderstorms are expected to develop in the watch area overnight. The strongest activity could produce baseball-sized hail, wind gusts up to 75 mph and a couple of tornadoes…
