San Antonio advocates speak against SNAP program cuts

SAN ANTONIO – Anti-hunger advocates in San Antonio are paying close attention to proposed cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Now, they’re calling for help from both sides of the aisle.

“It’s not a red or blue issue, it’s a red, white and blue issue,” said San Antonio Foodbank CEO, Eric Cooper. “When Americans are hungry, the government has an opportunity to nourish and that’s what the SNAP program has done.”…
