State pursues firearm charge against final defendant in 2017 East Side drive-by shooting

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – Nearly eight years after a deadly drive-by shooting on the East Side killed a 4-year-old boy, the last of four men charged in connection with the case is now on trial — but not for murder.

John Chatmon, who was arrested in 2020 alongside three other suspects, is standing trial this week on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm.
