U.S. Hwy 90 access road closed after fiber-optic company ruptures 24-inch water main

SAN ANTONIO – Utility workers are working to restore service and reopen roads after a fiber-optic drill damaged a water main.

On Monday, San Antonio Water System (SAWS) released a statement saying that the excavation of a 24-inch water main, which had been punctured by a fiber optic drilling contractor, had to be extended throughout the weekend.

This update stems from an incident on May 16, in which drilling crews working for a fiber optic company caused significant damage to a 24-inch water main running near eastbound U.S. Highway 90 frontage road, near Hunt Lane and southbound Loop 410…
