According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, a Level 2 “slight risk” for severe storms is in place Monday, May 26, for portions of the Hill Country. The rest of south-central Texas, including San Antonio, Austin, and New Braunfels, is under a Level 1 marginal risk. Hazards include large hail, damaging wind gusts, and isolated pockets of heavy rainfall that may cause localized flooding.
Storms may begin to fire late Sunday night in western areas such as Del Rio and Eagle Pass, with an elevated chance of strong cells continuing into Monday.
