Family and friends are remembering a teenager shot to death on the East Side. A balloon release was held today for 19-year-old Jordan Bocanegra who died Sunday.
His mother Tanya Bocanegra says her son was shot and killed when he stopped to get gas near East Gevers and East Commerce ST. Jordan Bocanegra then drove about a block and crashed at the corner of South Polaris and East Commerce. His sister Jasais Bocanegra says Jordan was in San Antonio visiting his brother.
“He came here to San Antonio to be with my older brother,” Jasais Bocanegra said. “That was his favorite. He thought of him as dad.”
Jasais Bocanegra says her brother just wanted to drive home to Hondo when someone opened fire.
“It was so hard for us because he was the most kindest person,” Jasais Bocanegra said. “He didn’t like fighting. He didn’t like anything. He just wanted to stay home with his family. It was hard.”…
