San Antonio taco house abruptly closes after massive CPS Energy outage

Thousands of San Antonio residents are without power on Thursday, June 26, as a CPS Energy outage map shows more than 3,000 customers impacted. The massive outage is on the city’s Westside near Highway 90 and Frio City Road. According to the outage map, the cause is under investigation, and power is expected to be restored by 3:15 p.m.

Customers at Oscar’s Taco House, which is located off of Barrett Place, report that the restaurant is also part of the outage. Owner Alex Pruneda told MySA that he contacted CPS Energy, and the utility company informed him of a larger outage impacting the area. Shortly after, the restaurant began wrapping things up for the time being.

Customers were waiting patiently to eat their last meals at the restaurant in its final days, but once the power went out, the restaurant decided to close. Pruneda told MySA that as soon as power is restored, they will be open for business. The outage comes as the notable restaurant is set to close its doors after 63 years, drawing many customers to come out for the final days.
