SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A federal grand jury has indicted a 27-year-old San Antonio man on three counts of firearm-related offenses. Alex Lee Vega is accused of conspiring to transport a machinegun conversion device and possessing two Glock pistols, according to court documents.
Vega allegedly conspired with another individual to transport the device on or about April 10. Additionally, he is charged with possessing the firearms on or about April 11 and April 14, despite being a convicted felon. The charges include one count of aiding and abetting trafficking in firearms and two counts of felon in possession of a firearm.
Vega made his initial court appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Elizabeth S. Chestney of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison for each charge.
