San Antonio flood victims’ cause of death: All drowned, some with trauma

All 13 people who died in the San Antonio floods three weeks ago drowned, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office — though some also sustained injuries when their vehicles were swept into barriers, trees and other debris.

The medical examiner has not released the official reports, but shared the cause and manner of death for the victims with the San Antonio Express-News.

Eleven of the victims were found near Northeast Loop 410 and the Perrin-Beitel Road area on the Northeast Side. One victim was recovered from the intersection of Callaghan Road and Highway 90 near Leon Creek, and one victim was recovered from the Wurzbach Parkway area…
