A funeral for Edward “Ron” Acosta, a pioneering restaurateur, Navy veteran, and generous community leader whose influence spanned from Los Angeles to San Antonio and beyond, will be held this week.
The funeral for Acosta, the 78-year-old founder of the beloved Las Palapas restaurant chain, is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Cornerstone Church.
Acosta leaves a legacy of faith, family and service. He was a U.S. Navy radioman during the Vietnam War, and a lifelong supporter of education and cultural programs for underprivileged youth, according to an obituary.
