Man Fatally Shot During Dice Game on San Antonio’s South Side, Suspect At Large

A South Side community is grappling with the aftermath of a fatal shooting that occurred during an early morning dice game. According to the KTSA, San Antonio police reported that they received a call from West Villaret Avenue around 3 a.m. yesterday, where they found a man in his 20s shot to death.

The shooting suspect had been participating in the game before things took a deadly turn. “At some point, things got out of hand and one of the men playing the game pulled a gun and shot a victim,” said a witness in the statement obtained by KTSA. After the incident, the shooter reportedly got into his vehicle and fled. Authorities have not released the names of those involved, and the search for the shooter is ongoing.

A local resident, Mario Rodriguez, expressed his shock to KSAT 12 News, revealing the uncharacteristic nature of the violence in what he described as a typically peaceful neighborhood. “I just saw all these lights and the policemen.
