Man’s conviction in Trinity cheerleader’s death upheld by appeals court

SAN ANTONIO — Mark Howerton, who was convicted of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury to his girlfriend, Cayley Mandadi, will remain in prison after the Fourth Court of Appeals upheld his conviction this week.
