Taylor Swift inspires ‘grateful’ San Antonio native to aim for Grammy fame

A local high schooler was the only San Antonian selected for the Grammy Camp, an exclusive music industry workshop that is hosted by the Grammy Museum in Miami, Los Angeles and New York. Victoria Moke, a rising senior at Brandeis High School, was one of only 172 students from across the country tapped for the program, and only 23 selected on the vocal performance track.

“Honestly, when I found out, I literally started crying because I tried out last year and had not made it. So it just wasn’t my year yet, and I was still trying to figure out myself as an artist, and, you know, my craft,” Moke told MySA. “And so to know that I was the only one from San Antonio, Texas, was really cool.”

Born and raised in the Alamo City, Moke attended the camp in Los Angeles and stressed that she “repped” San Antonio as much as she could, and other students noticed how often she said the word “y’all.”…
