District attorney promises severe charges for hate crime vandalism

SAN ANTONIO – The district attorney is giving warning to whoever tagged a neighborhood on the North Side with hateful graffiti over the weekend. The charges will be severe.

Thankfully, people living in the Castle Hills Forest neighborhood didn’t have to look at the hateful messages for long. Though the damage only lasted a few days, neighbors said it was totally out of the blue.

“Letters were about three feet tall, very narrow, obviously very crude spray paint,” said James Mims, whose fence was tagged with graffiti. “Not the artistic graffiti that we sometimes see downtown.”…
