San Antonio man sues USAA, wants more than $1.5M over downtown car crash

Drivers around San Antonio are likely familiar with the treacherous merging of I-10 and I-35 just north of downtown. Cars are nearly constantly trying to jump from one highway to another, and traffic is often at a standstill as a result. One particular driver in this harrowing section of highway was reportedly rear-ended back in March, and he’s taking USAA to court saying he wasn’t paid out enough to cover the damage caused by the crash.

Manuel J. Garcia II was reportedly driving along I-10, headed toward downtown San Antonio, where the highway splits and connects with I-35. According to a crash report obtained by MySA, he was attempting to head east on I-35 when Saul Hernandez Martinez hit the back of his white 2022 Toyota Prius.

The investigating officer spoke with Garcia, who claimed to suffer from minor pain in his lower back. He was transported to Baptist Medical Center as a result…
