Veteran anchor Steve Spriester steps down from KSAT after 30 years

Yet another longtime San Antonio anchor is leaving the airwaves. ABC affiliate KSAT announced that Steve Spriester, a more than 30-year vet of the station, will step away from the desk after a final broadcast on August 27.

According to KSAT’s announcement, Spriester will be joining Perfected Claims, a legal advocacy firm that specializes in tort cases. The journalist first joined the news team in 1995 as a general assignments reporter.

Since then, he has grown with the station. He quickly became a weekend anchor in 1996, a 6 pm weekday anchor and investigative reporter in 1998, and has helmed 5 pm, 6 pm, and Nightbeat coverage since 2000.
