Two men were locked up last week after police say they made off with 28 packs of lottery tickets. When reportedly caught trying to break into another convenience store – crowbar, lock pick and gloves in tow – the men were booked into a jail in Boerne, about 30 minutes north of San Antonio, along with several charges out of San Antonio.
At around 1:15 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, Christopher Cruz and Pete Reyna were spotted at a Shell Station in Boerne, allegedly attempting to break in. An officer nabbed the two and compared their mugshots to video of a Metro Stop burglary in the same Texas Hill Country town about a week and a half before. It was a match, according to a Kendall County warrant, and one of the two confessed to investigators.
“After a brief pursuit, the two occupants – Pete Reyna and Christopher Cruz – were arrested on Ebensberger Avenue. During the arrest, officers discovered Reyna had six outstanding warrants from Bexar County. Cruz also had one active warrant,” a Boerne spokesperson told MySA. “Reyna is now facing two new charges from the Boerne Police Department: evading arrest and unlawful use of a criminal instrument, indicating he had burglary tools in the vehicle. Cruz is facing one charge from Boerne Police for unlawful use of a criminal instrument.”…
