Another San Antonio bookkeeper has agreed to plead guilty to stealing from her employers rather than go to trial.
Monica Marie Padilla’s plea agreement was filed under seal Tuesday and was followed on Wednesday with the filing of a criminal information charging her with three counts of wire fraud and one count each of mail fraud and money laundering.
Her plea hearing is set for next Wednesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Henry Bemporad. Each of the charges carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison. She’ll also likely be ordered to pay restitution to her victims. The plea deal won’t be unsealed until after the hearing…
