Paper Tiger latest target of Texas AG Paxton over ban on officers carrying guns

The club Paper Tiger on St. Mary’s Strip has landed in Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s crosshairs over allegedly prohibiting police officers from carrying a weapon on the premises.

Paxton’s office on Thursday sued club owner Empty Stomach LP, asking a court to impose penalties and issue a ruling that prevents Paper Tiger from continuing to break the law.

Chad Carey, principal of Empty Stomach, was not aware of the suit until the San Antonio Express-News emailed him a copy. He declined to comment, saying he wanted to consult with his legal counsel…
