Lawsuit: Sheriff’s officers used excessive force on teen hallucinating on drugs

In a newly filed lawsuit, the Bexar County sheriff’s office is being accused of using excessive force while responding to a call about a minor hallucinating on drugs.

The lawsuit, which was filed on Aug. 20, claims officers used excessive force when they arrested a 16-year-old boy who had ingested “hallucinogenic mushrooms” in 2023. It names Bexar County, Sheriff Javier Salazar and two officers as defendants in the case.
