Here’s when South Texas may see chilly mornings return to the forecast

Folks all around South Texas woke up to pleasantly cool temperatures Thursday as lows dipped to 69 degrees in the Alamo City. It’s significantly cooler than we’ve been lately, as the average low temperature over the previous 10 days has been a warm and muggy 76 degrees.

It’s one of the first real signs that fall is on the way. Sunrises are happening later, sunsets earlier, and since the start of August, San Antonio has already lost 53 minutes of daylight. By the end of September, another 45 minutes will be gone.

As the amount of daylight continues to decrease, San Antonio will receive less direct sunlight. That, along with a lower sun angle, means that temperatures are set to get much cooler in the coming weeks.
