Beloved San Antonio Tejano legend Ram Herrera, known for his role with the David Garza y Los Musicales band, announced he has Stage 4 prostate cancer, according to a video he shared on his Facebook fan page on Tuesday, September 8.
Herrera said it’s been a “scary situation” as he has gone through several rounds of tests. But, he said, doctors told him it is treatable and he will not need chemotherapy. Herrera will instead begin treatment with medication followed by radiation, which he noted will make him a bit weak.
“I have it and I’m dealing with it, and I’m going to see it through, through the power of Christ, I’m going to see it through,” Herrera said. “There are too many things I want to do still musically, in life itself, personally. I just got married and I want to enjoy the marriage.”…
