San Antonio Business Owner Relieved After Suspect Arrested in Medical Center Vandalism

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — A San Antonio business owner says he is relieved after police arrested the man accused of vandalizing businesses in the Medical Center area, ending months of damage and concern.

Authorities identified the suspect as German Hernandez Estrada, 42, who was booked into the Bexar County Jail on a charge of criminal mischief with bond set at $25,000.

Investigators said Estrada is believed to be the same man who threw a rock through a window on the UT Health San Antonio campus earlier this week, prompting false reports of a possible active shooter.

While those alarms were later confirmed to be unfounded, the incident added to growing concern in the area, where businesses had been targeted for months. Police have since linked Estrada to both cases.
