More than a handful of Texas families, or loners journeying through the Lone Star State, have found their way into a Rudy’s Country Store and BBQ. Some might be put off by the thought of a chain barbecue joint, but others welcome the comfort, warmth and consistency…unless you can’t get to it.
Rudy’s, founded in Leon Springs outside of San Antonio, has smokehouses scattered between Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Dallas, but West Texas has been notably neglected. That is until this week when Rudy’s opened its first ever Midland BBQ joint on Thursday, September 11.
The newest Rudy’s had folks lining out the door before officially opening at 6 a.m. as the first 100 customers each received $20 gift cards. Visitors can find it at 4711 Loop 250 Frontage Road, or 350 miles northwest of San Antonio…
