Discount store to open first-ever San Antonio location this month

San Antonio shoppers looking to snag budget-friendly outdoor wear for the fall season are in luck. A popular brand in the U.S. is set to open its first Texas location this month and picked none other than the Alamo City for its grand entrance.

The Wyoming-based adventure gear brand Sierra is preparing to open the doors to its new location at one of the state’s largest luxury shopping centers, the RIM. Plans for the $4 million project were initially detailed in a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) report last year, outlining a roughly 23,000-square-foot store.

Formerly known as Sierra Trading Post, the retailer is a part of TJX, the same corporation that owns discount chains TJ Maxx and Marshalls, as well as decoration brands like Home Goods and Homesense. Unlike the other, it focuses on offering a range of apparel, footwear, and accessories aimed at getting families active in the way they like most.
