A Bexar County man who federal authorities say sold a machine gun-type weapon to a confidential informant has been sentenced to two years in prison.
Jaime Sandoval Jr. pleaded guilty in January to one count of possession of a machine gun. He had faced up to 10 years in prison on the charge.U.S. District Judge David Alan Ezra set Jan. 5 as Sandoval’s date to surrender to federal authorities to begin serving his prison term.
Law enforcement officials began an investigation into Sandoval after receiving a tip that he was trying to sell guns that had been converted into automatic weapons using machine gun conversion devices, commonly known as Glock switches.
