Death of H-E-B Mexico contract worker allegedly pranked by bully spurs outrage

A subsidiary of a beloved Texas-based grocer, H-E-B México’s Senderos location, is facing heavy backlash after a store contract worker died due to an alleged prank gone wrong, local reports say.

According to a Thursday report from El Sol de la Laguna, 47-year-old H-E-B México store cleaner Carlos Gurrola Arguijo — also known as “El Papayita” — died after ingesting a beverage that was allegedly laced with a “a solvent or toxic substance.”
