Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones made little progress on ambitious 100-day plan

Gina Ortiz Jones set an ambitious agenda for her first 100 days in office — early in her campaign for San Antonio mayor and well before she had any inkling how City Hall works.

She built her platform around more than a dozen “actions,” from identifying ways to increase affordable, high-speed Internet to expanding the city’s tax-funded pre-K program. And she pledged to make them her top priorities early in her four-year term.

She was adamant that she would get them all done in her first three months, even though she was sworn in at the start of the city’s annual budget season, an intense time for staff made even more challenging this year by dwindling tax revenue…
